Locum Allied Health professionals, on the other hand, may earn between $1,200 and $1,500 per day, depending on the role, location, and contract conditions.
What qualifications do I need to become an Allied Health worker in Australia?
To practise as an Allied Health professional in Australia, you must hold the relevant tertiary qualification and, where applicable, be registered with the appropriate national accreditation or professional body. Many Allied Health professions such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Psychology are regulated through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Other Allied Health professions are not regulated by AHPRA but are instead self-regulated through their peak professional bodies (such as Speech Pathology Australia). Candidates should check the specific requirements for their profession with the relevant professional association to confirm registration, accreditation, or membership requirements.
Do you offer locum Allied Health opportunities?
Yes. We specialise in locum Allied Health placements across Australia. These roles can range from short-term cover to longer contract assignments in metropolitan, regional, and remote locations. Locum roles are ideal for Allied Health workders seeking flexibility, variety, and competitive daily rates.
Do I need Australian working rights to apply?
Allied Health applicants generally require valid working rights in Australia (such as Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a visa permitting work), unless sponsorship or alternative arrangements are specified for a particular role.
We also welcome international Allied Health applicants to have a conversation with us. We work with a number of organisations that offer visa sponsorship opportunities and would be happy to discuss your situation and explore available pathways.
